Truth Inversion: Goat Is Good; Sheep Is Bad…
It seems a bit curious to me that the world has taught us to use “sheep” as an insult to people, while in the Bible, Christ’s followers are regularly referred to as his sheep, as he is The Good Shepherd.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” – Jesus Christ
Yet, as the world tends to do, it inverts God’s truth. In the world, to be called a “goat” is to be celebrated and to be called a “sheep” is to be insulted as an idiot, a blind follower; not having a mind of your own.
“And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand(SHEEP), Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand(GOATS), Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”
Just as Hollywood has taught us to use “Jesus Christ“ as a curse, and to take his name in vain, it has taught us to insult each other by using terminology that is of eternal preciousness.
Isn’t it strange that it always works out that way. Gee, I wonder why that might be?
